Which BBQ we'll be going to, which beach we should hang out at and where to watch the fireworks. We might also be planning some fabulous party ourselves. It's So Fluffy...and Magical!
Earlier this month we celebrated Briohny's 3rd Birthday. Seanny and I had a blast planning and prepping for her party! Who could resist a Magical Unicorn themed party???
The Magical Unicorn birthday invitation really set the tone for our party planning. We were able to tie everything around the colors on the invite.
Adults and children alike all enjoyed being "sugared up" from our Sweets Bar. We had homemade red velvet cupcakes and unicorn pops, personalized sugar cookies, cupcake lollipops from Posh Pops, marshmello cupcakes, magical pixie stix, jelly beans, and unicorn horn pops. Added to this mix was also a giant custom-made unicorn pinata filled with 20lbs of candy and custom made unicorn horns as the party hat and a mailbox so that our guests could leave Briohny a message!
Needless to say, Briohny had one magical party!! We are definitely blessed to have such great friends helping us and an awesome turnout by family and friends, to make the party a memorable one.
My next challenge will come when it's Briohny's big brother's turn. He already has in mind, a Vintage Airplanes themed party. Should be fun!
By the way, did I mention the adults had a great time as well???

Jackson's Sock Monkey Birth Announcements
Check out the cute birth announcements we custom designed for Jackson. He did a newborn photoshoot with me a few weeks ago with his cute little sock monkey hat and him mom Lisa decided that the announcements should match and I'm so glad she decided that, cuz these turned out super cute. And his big sis Addison had a matching hat too....in pink, of course, so I made a pink sock monkey for her too :)
If you want to order these announcements or order them as a birthday invitation, contact me at info@invitationparlour.com or call 951.241.0417 and we can answer all your questions.

Sprinkle Party {Baby Shower}
Last Saturday I co-hosted a Sprinkle party for my best friend Kim. This will be Kim's second baby and after I did some researching to get inspiration for the party, I found out that the second shower is called a Sprinkle...not a full on Shower, just a little Sprinkle to show that we care :)So after I found this out, the ideas came pouring into my head and I told my friend I would handle the dessert table and decor for the party. I decided I wanted a party that was different from the first shower I threw her. That party was definitely more baby, with diaper cakes and games and baby shower decor. I wanted this one to be more modern and a party for the girls to mingle and chit chat while eating high calorie foods :)
I've known Kim since College, we are both designers and both love photography, design, weddings and a good party. Kimmy is also the one that always bombards me with all these fun blogs to read about, such as Hostess with the Mostess and Kara's Party Ideas and introduced me into the world of Amy Atlas and the candy and dessert buffets. So for sure I knew I wanted a dessert table. And once I was inspired by a "Sprinkle Party" I knew that all the desserts was going to have to have Sprinkles on top and I was going to have as much sprinkles as I could possibly have at a party.
Of course everything starts with the invitations and here it is.
I wanted it to be simple and modern and I used the colors that I knew were Kim's favorites at this time. They were printed on both sides with the stripes continuing onto the back of it. And for an extra touch, I decided to add little punched out sprinkles in matching colors, into the envelopes, so that the recipient would get some sprinkles in the mail with their invite.
Onto the dessert table. I wanted the background to match the invitations, so I punched out circles in different sizes and in the colors that matched the invite to create the Sprinkle Effect. I had vanilla cupcakes with lemonade frosting with sprinkles, sugar cookies with sprinkles, donuts with sprinkles and a ice cream buffet where you could sprinkle on your toppings...told you this party was high in calories! For drinks we had sparkling lemonades in champagne glasses that was rimmed with yellow sprinkles. And for the favors I found cute salt shakers at beau-coup.com and filled it with lemon heads. I can't take credit for the flower arrangements, I enlisted the help from my mom for that...she was a life saver, since I don't do flowers. I can buy all the stuff, but that's as far as I can go, luckily she was here to help me make them look extra cute.
It turned out to be a great party. I couldn't do it without the help of my co-host Sandra I., who handled the rest of the food that didn't have sugar in it :) Thank you for also letting us invade your home and letting me rearrange your backyard. And thank you Sandra T. and Karina for helping me set up and for making that cute sign, because for some reason I still don't own a Cricut. Congratulations Kimmy...we can't wait to meet the new little guy soon!!! xoxo, Seanny :)

Celebrating Friendship and Motherhood
It was so much fun getting together with my girlfriends on Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. It was also Seanny's first Mother's Day! We got together at her place and everyone brought either an appetizer or dessert to share! Needless to say, it was so full-filling and yummy!!
It was so refreshing to catch up with everyone. Sometimes, life just moves so fast and keeps us so busy that we hardly find time to catch a breath and keep in touch with each other. Just having this day was so wonderful! Many of us have known each other since elementary and junior high school! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful group of girlfriends in my life!
Our kids had a blast hanging out with each other as well...though it was hard to catch them all for photos and getting them to cooperate, LOL. I love these little munchkins!!

The Magical Unicorn
Why are Unicorns so special?
Legend tells us that it is a mystical creature that looks like a white horse with the addition of a white spiraling horn coming from its forehead. It is often seen as magical and represents peace, tranquility, unity, love and beauty. It is shown as graceful and admired by many.
For my soon-to-be 3 year old daughter, it is magical and "so fluffy"!!! It all started with us watching a movie called "Despicable Me". One of the main characters is a little girl named Agnus who loves Unicorns. Since then, Briohny has fallen in love with Unicorns.
Her birthday party is coming up and I've been having so much fun planning this "Magical Unicorns" party. Of course, I can't have all the fun myself. I've recruited a few of my talented, artsy, crafty friends for help!
I've also been getting so many ideas from different cool sites!! The page that stands out most to me is Hostess with the Mostess. They blog about all kinds of different themed parties! Here are a few images from their page.
Here's a fun collage for a preview of things we've gotten together for Briohny's party...
I know, you're all probably wondering, where's the invitation??? Well, you'll just have to check back next time for a peek at what the invitation looks like. :D
In the meantime, check out this video from Vivid Wedding Films. It's a 3-year old girl's take on Princesses and Unicorns. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by the Invitation Parlour!

Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fundraiser - Special Edition Notecards
As the situation unfolds in the aftermath of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, aftershocks, destructive tsunami, we can’t help but think of what tragedy ensues its victims and the country of Japan. I read up on current events every morning and as a mother, I am always thinking of all the people that have been displaced or have lost their livelihood. My business partner and I feel the urgency and want to use our talents to do something to help in some way.
We are going to start a fundraiser and contribute half of our proceeds to the American Red Cross: Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. We think every little bit helps, and it will definitely be an ongoing task to help relocate and support all it’s victims.
You can purchase these notecards “Springtime in Japan” at www.invitationparlour.com for $10/pack of 10.

The design was inspired by the beauty of spring & all the cherry blossoms that would be seen in the country of Japan during this time of year. The yellow birds represent hope and peace that we wish for the people during this difficult time.
“In all things it is better to hope than to despair.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Geothe
Here are some pictures that my sister took when she was in Japan. Luckily she was safe after the earthquake happened and was able to come back home.

And here are some images that has made us all want to help in any way we can.
